Directions
The Hotel Elefant is located in the middle of the pedestrian zone in the historic old town of Salzburg. Although the pedestrian zone is secured with bollards to calm traffic, it is possible to drive to the hotel at any time.
The access code required for this is available from the hotel at short notice .
Arrival by public transport
From Salzburg’s main train station, you can either take a taxi (approx. 10 minutes) or public bus no. 3, 5 or 6 to the Rathaus station (first stop after crossing the Salzach). Our hotel is located on the back of the building (town hall) in Sigmund-Haffner-Gasse 4.
arriving by car
You can park in the Altstadtgarage B – Mönchsberggarage at the hotel special rate. The entrance to the garage is at “Hildmannplatz 1”
Old town parking garage B
Hildmannplatz 1
5020 Salzburg
If you are traveling with little luggage, we recommend parking in the garage. It is a 5-minute walk to the hotel via the Altstadt-Toscaninihof exit.
If you want to drive up to the hotel to unload , please drive to the center of Salzburg. If you come over the Staatsbrücke (the central bridge in Salzburg), at the end of the bridge drive straight ahead into the town hall arch and stop in front of the bollards.
If you are coming from the direction of “Franz-Josef-Kai” or “Hanusch-Platz”, immediately turn sharply right after the traffic lights in front of the “Staatsbrücke” and stop in front of the bollards.
To the left of the bollards on the wall there is a keypad where you enter our access code (if you don’t already have one, the keypad has an intercom to the hotel).
When the bollard has lowered, drive on down the next lane
left and immediately right again to the hotel, where you can stop briefly to unload.
Parking information: Dear guests, we ask for your understanding that we cannot offer a valet service. Of course, we will explain to you where and how you can best park your car during your stay.
